I love this so much! The content (and particularly the strikethroughs) and acknowledging access in our routine 'engage with nature' as coping dialogue, it's all so great. I love a night sky, constellations, a shooting star will make my days. I loved being in international dark sky while in Big Bend NP. I happened to arrive the day a meteor shower was starting and the air was cool while the ground was still warm from the day and radiating heat. I sat for hours, the entire campground following the rules with their lights off, it was amazing. I don't look up during the day enough. I shall.
Hi Cassidy- thank you so much for reading!! And I would love to camp where there are rules about Light after dark. Your stay sounds awe-inspiring. & thank you for the love on my writing in this letter- while I am working on living less for the external validation, it's always so affirming that I am on the right path my being here and doing what sparks joy. I appreciate you. Sending shooting-stars across your night skies!
Loooove this!! Nobody is talking about this! And you're right... EVERYONE has access to the sky (although light pollution DOES break my heart... I've felt this urge to go to Montana and get a little secluded AirBnB cabin and just... soak in the beauty AND the nighttime starry skies. I am CRAVING that). And I love how "lazy" this is too. 😂🙏 Now, to visualize/manifest my perfect home that has floor to ceiling windows of sunrise and sunsets, and a porch for unobstructed star gazing. 💛
I TOO, WANT A STAY IN MONTANA. Let's plz coordinate that in this lifetime. The children can play outside. We write. and stargaze. 🥰 (this emoji curtesy YOUR EDUCATIONAL HACKS).
My daughter became a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society when she was about 11 or 12 😊
My favourite weather season is autumn. Where I live the temperature is perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, and the changing colours as everything winds down for a restful winter is delightful.
I’m definitely going to practice more skychology! And I love learning new words that resonate 🙏💙
Your daughter sounds amazing. I like Autumn too. And Spring. And Summer. Just not Winter. Anything but Winter. LOL
Thank you so much for reading and sharing my post today, dear Georgia. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate being in the presence of fellow peace-seekers and wellness-practitioners.
Super cool, K! I too celebrate and practice Skychology! Sometimes while floating in the pool. Night skies on clear nights are cosmic marvels too. Where I last lived I was directly under the Big Dipper and many a clear night I looked up at the sister stars. Cloud science is fascinating too. Mindfulness practices are all around but the natural world has been a favorite of mine as far back as I can recall. Thank you for your wise guidance and humor! Keep writing! 🥰🥰🥰🤓🤓🤓🌟🌟🌟
I'm a night sky girl, through and through.... when the afterglow of the sunset gives way to the first stars of the evening, everything settles back into place again. And I live in a VERY dark place, so I even get to see the milky way in the darkest hours. Come visit! For reals! (And thanks for this wonderfully needed, practical tip today. The best way to wake up!)
I can only IMAGINE the night skies you have seen around the world. When you were in Alaska - were there sunsets? Thank you for reading and being here!! 🌌
I concur!! I lived in Sedona AZ for 7 years and I have hundreds of pictures of the sky there. And rainbows!! Looking up saved my mind quite a few times!! Thanks for this beautiful reminder K!! 😍😍😍

Just ran across your info on Sub stack, while sitting on a chaise looking at my surroundings, you reminded me of the sky!
