Loved everything about this! I especially loved the way you broke it down by sensory and that you included a spiritual one (my fave).
Also, CARDAMON CAPPUCCINO?!?!?!?! Are you even kidding me right now???????? 🤯😱 It sounds DEVINE!
I never would have thought to marry the two. I feel like I need this in my life and will be sure to try it - thanks for the recipe! I'll report back once I do (disclaimer: have to opt out of the rose water (sorry!)).
I feel quite honored to be delving into Daring Greatly with you...truly. I love that we are on this little path together (thanks for the invite, btw 😊). Not to rush to the end (you know, enjoy the journey and all), but can we do it again when this one is done? 🙏♥️
Omg hi!! Thank you for endorsing the spiritual sense bc I was starting to get in my head about that.. it’s not part of the 5 essential senses… was I pushing it?? NOW IT STAYS, thanks to you!!
Okay cardamom capp 😇🥹 your coffee consuming soul will appreciate just how scrumptious this drink is!! PLEASE REPORT BACK!! My sister made some of the simple syrup today and she is going to make more without the whole cardamom pod- that might make the flavor less earthy?? I like the earth 😂
No hard feelings about the 🌹 water! I know it’s not a favorite for many. I’m the same way with lavender. Too soapy?
I listened to the chapter today on Men and Women’s relationship to Shame and I meant to message you. JUST WOW. All of it hit home. Every last word. I would LOVE to keep this going to the next book- sorry I’m trailing behind!!
Nope - don't be sorry. I'm not much further than I was when I messaged you (because life). We actually may be aligned, lol. But...can we promise each other to not let the people pleaser in us make us feel shamed if we don't finish at the same time? I can just picture us constantly apologizing to one another for not being able to read/listen more because, well, we're us lol.
And YAY to wanting to continue on after this book! ♥️😊
I love everything about this listicle!!! Thank you for sharing about Amy's podcast! I'm gonna tune in now :) Looking for the joy every day is my new mission!! :) Xoxo
I’m with you on this. The sensory breakdown makes everything so present. The tea recipe speaks to me—I love cardamom and the idea of a syrup that works in both coffee and tea. I’ll try it.
And yes, I smiled reading about “The Pouch” because I have a Tommy Bahama beach chair too—my personal treasure. I hauled it back from a trip to Key West, where I found it on sale in a Tommy boutique. Nobody really knows Tommy in Germany, so this chair and the five shirts I’ve collected feel like little secrets I brought home. I only ever sit in it in my garden—it’s my summer luxury.
‘This is temporary’—simple and clear. It lands exactly where it needs to. Thanks for sharing all of this.
I’ll be sitting with you on The Pouch in spirit sipping some cardamom tea! 🍵 🤍 thank you so much for reading and sharing with me, Jay. Your Tommy shirt collection sounds so special.
K. It is so super special, because every shirt has a specific memory and some haven't even been mine in the first place, some are my late wife's and they do carry even more memories.
I couldn't believe it when I read your newsletter this morning and saw information about self-care (which I am trying to make the new focus of my life), including cardamom tea...which I literally just ordered for the first time last night on a whim!!!

LDR!! That’s serendipity to me… I hope you love the cardamom tea, and I salute you in centering in self compassion💜
Are you familiar with Tara Brach? She has a book called Radical Self Acceptance that’s really about self care. If you check it out, let me know! Xx
Um that was chai spice (autocorrect)
Casita spice sounds intriguing… 😆
I am here for the cardamom cappuccino. I've been putting Casita spice in my Lattes but rose water? Girrrrrrrrrl. You're on another level.
❤️❤️❤️
Luuuuuuuuurved this sensory self-care listicle!!! 😍😍😍 I'm with you... a good listicle makes me so happy!!! 🙏
