Dear Gentle People Pleaser,
Welcome to “Dear People Pleasers” a space dedicated to those who find joy in serving others but often forget to prioritize themselves in the process. I’m Kaylen Alexandra- your fellow people pleaser, and I am excited to share this corner of the internet with you.
In this community we celebrate the art of caring for others while recognizing the importance of self care. Its a place where your experiences, struggles and triumphs are not only acknowledged, but embraced. Together, we will explore the beautiful balance of holding compassion towards others, and equally, ourselves.
Why “Dear People Pleasers”?
Because you’re worth it. After investing time, money and effort into understanding why people pleasing is such an automatic response in me, I came to the FREE realization that in caring for everyone else- I forgot about myself. Does this sound like you, too?
With DPP, I aim to craft a love letter to your heart with tools and resources on how to wrangle the unique challenges and joys that come with being a people pleaser.
Here, you are seen, heard, and understood. As am I.
What to Expect:
1. Genuine Connection: Let’s dive into authentic discussions about the highs and lows of being a people pleaser. Share your stories and let’s learn from each other.
2. Self-Care Spotlight: Discover self care tips and techniques tailored for the compassionate souls who often forget to prioritize their wellbeing.
3. Encouragement and Empowerment: Here you’ll find inspiration to embrace your authenticity, finding the joy in serving others - without sacrificing your own happiness.
My goal is not to turn you into a narcissist, or tell you to create boundaries that are actually brick walls. Emotional Intelligence starts with self-awareness, and in these letters I hope to evolve along your side.
Your First Mission: Practice Self Care!
Before we dive into the depths of people pleasing discussion, I encourage you (and remind myself) to engage in an act of Self-Care this week.
This can look like:
Sipping a cup of tea in a quiet space
Going for a walk outside, or heading to the gym
Waking up early and diving into a good book
Putting up a sticky note on your mirror: What are you feeling, right now? and journaling your answer
