Parental Advice Nobody Asked For
Published & P-P-Proud (really trying to convince myself here)
Welcome to DPP, a weekly newsletter about the real life trials and tribulations of pleasing, and how to leverage emotional intelligence for proper recovery. Letters land on Tuesdays, please allow me a first class seat with your inbox?
You: Why is she here on a Friday??
Me: You noticed?! 🥹 Sometimes lightning strikes twice and I’m here to humble brag about my second publication EvEr with Authority Magazine!
Building a personal brand is so scary. It would be much easier to sit on the sidelines of life and judge everyone else than to stand in the arena with what feels like a spotlight over my head, and the sound of a boo-ing crowd in my mind. I lean on the bravery of leaders who have gone before us, and remember that the most important opinion of me- is my own. (Thank you Dr. Brenè Brown.)
I was published in Authority Magazine (again!) for sharing strategies on nurturing emotional strength in children.
DISCLAIMERS 🚨:
Before you read:
First off: This interview with Dr. Kate Lund is LONG! Grab your favorite tea and some snacks. or skip! ETA for reading is about a lifetime 20 min.
ALSO: Not all my “advice” is going to work for your life- I realize that it’s not a “one-size fits all” situation. I am not a doctor, I have said before that I do not feel I am an authority, but rather a life-long learner and share-r of tips that have helped me on my path. Take what I say with a grain of sand. or salt, preferably of the Celtic variety.
Finally: Even if you are not a parent- some of these tactics work wonders with adults (if ya know what I mean 😉)
Thank you for your continued support as I break free from my people-pleasing coccoon - give this article a *clap* if you happen to enjoy!
Have yourself a happy little weekend,
K. Alexandra

Great advice, raising little people can be challenging but so rewarding as well. I have a 16 year old daughters, a 13 year old son and a 5 year old son. They all teach me so many things. Embrace the time you have with them, they grow up so fast!!
